What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

This is a picture of an Apple Mac which we used to edit are opening together. The Mac was also useful for other jobs like searching for copy right free sounds and recording voiceovers to are film. From this I have learnt that without this technology the film industry wouldn’t be as big because it would take longer and cost more if hardware like this wasn’t around.

This is a picture of the editing software we used called imovie. We used imovie because it was already installed onto the Mac and would make a production cheaper to keep this and use it. From this we have learnt that you can get cheaper editing software which works well without having to spend on professional software like final cut.

This is a picture of garage band which was also already installed onto the Mac’s. We tried to use this to make a moving piece of music but because of the lack of knowledge we used a piece of music from a copyright free source.

 

This is a picture of an internet browser called safari. We used this to get onto copyright free sounds like freesound.org and audio farm to get sound effects and music pieces. From this we have learnt that because of technology it is easier to get sound effects because without it you would have to actually record the sound effect on its own, which might be hard in some cases.

This is a picture of a tripod. The tripod will let you pan and keep a straight camera movement for the time’s it is needed. The tripod is clever because it will let you adjust it till what you want for example a specific height. From this we have learnt without the tripod it would be hard to keep a straight shot. This would also be especially hard for when you need to pan because it keeps the camera level. 

This is a picture of a camera. The camera is the biggest technology as without this you wouldn’t be able to film anything. In the past years camera’s were very basic and expensive but as the technology got better the camera’s have gotten cheap and better for example most camera’s are now built in with night vision which helps for shots at night. Form this we have learnt that the camera is the biggest technology in the whole filming business because without the cameras there would be no film.

To conclude we have seen and used all of the new technologies which have come out and tried our best to learn them but as new technology comes out you will have to learn them again this is why the filming business is wealthy.
