Shooting Schedule

we will be shooting are film from the 21st February to the 6th March because we will need to go around different locations and film there. We will also want at least three to four takes to make sure we get the shot perfectly. We will Check the weather forecast for that fortnight night to make sure the weather is suitable all the time when filming but this will need to be done on a later time to get the most precise weather forecast.

Lighting Experiments

Here is high key lighting which is used to set moods in films. The high key lighting shows everything in the shot which is needed in some films but in other cases of films you will need low key lighting which is at the bottom.

Sound Experiments

For our opening to a film we will need different sounds going on in the background to make the opening more exciting for the audience so we used a free non copyright source for are sounds which is freesound.org.

Risk Assessment

To control the amount of a person’s life in a film there are many guide lines which have to be followed for example if there is any lose wires they have to be strapped to the floor with black inosculation tape securely. If there are cars being used in set then the driver must have sufficient driving qualifications but for are opening to our film this will not be counted for as we can’t use vehicles. If there are any bright lights they must be aimed below eye line so the cast and crew can see what they need to be doing. If there are any ways in which the cast and crew can claim for an injury they must be dealt with.

Audience Research

The age band which most is interested in cinema is 7 to 34 year olds because they have less to do and can spend their money on cinema not on a mortgage or rent for a house. The specific age group which attend the cinema the most are 15 to 24 year olds as they are old enough to get a job but not to old that they don’t have to pay any bills. From this information we have decided to aim our film at 15 to 24 year olds have the age certificate at 15. For some of the audience research we have asked people what costume should we wear and after a lot of people opinions we found out that polo shirt and trousers was the costume we will be wearing. We have also asked people what idea was the best out of the initial ideas and found out that the BTeam one was the best. So that is the one we are doing.

Location Ideas

The ideas for location that we have come up with are Arnesby, Countesthorpe and Blaby because these are locations where we have easy access to. We wanted a location where there are not many cars so the risk of being ran over when filming is limited. We did research into how many people lived in that area and found out that Arnesby would be the best place to film because of the small amount of people who live there. Also one of the production team live there so we have access to a place to film out of.

The shots which are going to be set outside will be in Arnesby around about here on the picture. Here is not very busy and there will be a white van for the van scene on the end of this road which we have asked if we could film. This location will be good because there are different place for us to come out of to meet in the middle of the road.

Then for the bedroom shots we are going to need four different bedrooms which we will use our own. Here is one of the four bedrooms we will be using to shot the opening in. We have used this bedroom for the man who is going to brush his teeth in because there is a sink already in the bedroom without having to go to the bath room. Then there will be three other bedrooms which will all be different.

Hot Fuzz

Hot Fuzz like all the other film openings I have researched, they start the film with the distribution company so this is how we are going to start our film. There is a non diegetic alarm sound during the viewing of the distribution titles. There is a sound bridge from the distribution company and the production company which shows these are linked together. The next shot is an extreme long shot showing the corridor as the man in police uniform walks into the building. He is wearing police uniform which suggests that this film will be serious. This shot slowly zooms into the man walking towards the camera. There is ambient sound of footsteps which show this is a very quiet place he is in. Then there is a non diegetic voiceover telling the audience who the man is which the identity badge. The next shot is of a close up of his shoes which were cut in to the film to show where the noise was coming from and this also shows a lot about the character as his shoes were clean. Then there is a medium shot which shows smartly attended uniform. There is a non diegetic voiceover telling the audience about his life, where he graduated. Then there is a side medium shot of him which suggests that this character must be the main character because this is the only character seen so on. Then there's an extreme close up shot of the badge on the side of his coat showing what number in the police force he is. Then it cuts back to the medium side shot of him with a non diegetic voiceover still telling the audience about him. Then there is a cut to a medium shot of him in a sports hall wearing a blue polo shirt and shorts which suggests that he is more than just a normal police officer. There is diegetic sound of a man blowing a whistle which suggests that he is under some examination also by the way he is standing. Then it zooms in into his face showing four other people in the same place which don’t look focused where as he is focused. Then it pan’s off to the right and you see a medium tracking shot following him through the obstacles in his way. He is wearing riot uniform to show that he is doing this for the police not as a hobby.  Then there is a medium shot showing everybody else going into the obstacles following him. He is first to suggest that he is the best policemen there is in that area. Then they cut to another medium shot where he is facing and running at the camera. There is a non diegetic voiceover telling the audience about what he does in his spare time. Then there is a close up of him behind a riot shield which suggests that he has been in combat a lot of the time because he looks determinate where as if that was his first time he would look frightened. Then there's a cut to a long shot showing groups of policemen behind riot shields which shows there's a riot going on. There is fire bombs being thrown at them to show this film will be action packed. Then there is a lot of cut in and out shots of him showing what his reaction is to the fire bombs being thrown at him. Then there's a cut to show a exam paper with him circling the right answer which then pans up to show him giving the paper to the examiners where as everyone else is still writing down the answer. Then there is a medium tracking shot going back to the police station following him up stairs. Then there is a last shot when the non diegetic voice over finishes of him being stabbed in the hand by a man dressed as Father Christmas which shows you the rest of this film will not be just action packed.

Hot Shots Part Deux

The first shot is of the distribution company with a sound bridge of the submarine radar. Then it fades to the producer of the film with the non diegetic sound of the submarine radar. Then it fades to the main actors name in this case it is Charlie Sheen. Then it fades to the name of the film Hot Shots! Part Deux. Then that fades out and fades back in to suggest this film will be tense and dramatic. Then it tracks the submarine which has a dramatic heroic non diegetic music in the background suggesting the submarine has a big part in the film. There is words coming up on the screen as if there was someone typing them in which have a non diegetic sound effect added as they were hitting the keys. Then there is a spelling mistake showing that this film will not be like other action films but with a touch of comedy added. Then there is an extreme long shot showing the place where the submarine will be and the mansion on top of the hill. Then there is a long shot of three men dressed in wetsuits with Google and a oxygen tube in their backs. They also have guns showing that there are in the military but the uniform suggests that they maybe from the submarine. There is a non diegetic fast paced sound to show that these people need to do there job precisely or they may die. Then it tracks to a multiple of people pacing the camera which follows them to show you’re in the thick of what will be going on. Then there is a cut to a medium shot of a man preparing his weapon. Which shows there about to go into battle, then it pans down to another man taking off his diving mask which suggests that they have just came out the water and are ready to go to battle. Then there’s a long shot of inside a big house showing lots of furniture which shows who ever lives here must be rich as there are expensive tables, chairs and other pieces of furniture found in a house. There is ambient sound of the fire in the fireplace. Then there’s a close up shot of another man which shows he is important as he is the only close up we have had so on in the film. This man is dressed in a military uniform which suggests that this man maybe on the bad side of the film. Then there’s a cut in showing what he is looking at which is of him receiving a cheque of 10,000,000 in there amount of money. Also there is a calendar with a task sheet which has all evil things on like signing a death warrant. Then there is a long shot showing all the men in the wetsuits which suggests that these men aren’t important as they look all the same. Then there’s a diegetic voiceover telling them what to do. This makes you want to watch the whole film because you want to know what is going to happen next. From this research I have found that I want to leave the audience on a cliff hanger so they want to keep watching the film.

Idea's

Are intial idea is of a group of men called the BTeam which would be a spoof of the orginal group called the A-Team. these people will be working for BT fixing any problems in there little village. There will be a a guy with a afro, a guy with a mohawk and other different hair styles. There will be a stupid man, and they will all be individually different but in a way they are all in the same boat. This is the idea which we are going to make which will be improved later on.
Another intial idea, was to have two best mates which are extremely dumb and end up messing up a little sub urban town. this idea would have been good but the risk assessment would have made it less good so I left that idea all together.
Another intial idea, was to have a middle aged man were his life around him is very unlucky, for example part of this idea would be that he keeps breaking bones in his body. he would always end up with the broken equipment and he would always have the broken chair that no body else sits on.

For the logo we wanted a new and interesting look so these are some of the ideas which we have came up with.









The ideas for costumes are either polo shirt and jeans, polo shirt and trousers, shirts and trousers. to find out what we will be wearing I asked some people for my audience research and found out that having polo shirt and trousers would be the best for BT members. Because one person said " I wouldn't let anybody in jeans I don't know into my house." The ideas for props are going to be a black afro for a member of the BTeam. Glasses for another member of the BTeam. We will need three bikes and one tricycle for the BTeam as they ride away from the van. We will also need orange juice for the opening of the film because one of the members of the BTeam will be drinking this. We will also need a toothbrush for when one of the BTeam are brushing there teeth infront of the mirror. W will also need four alarm clocks for the start as we will have four shots of four different alarm clocks. We will also need four beds for the start when all the BTeam wake up.

Costume

The costume which we will be wearing is polo shirts with black smart trousers. We chose these for costumes because we wanted something professional looking because we asked different people and one person said " they would only let someone in there house with smart trousers and a polo shirt if they diddn't no them."

Die Hard 4

I used this for an example of an action comedy because it is the same genre which I will be using for my production piece. Die hard 4 starts off with the 20^th century fox opening which is the distributor. Then it is a medium tracking shot of a computer room, this shows that the film may be set in a computer room, then there is a cut in point of view shot showing what the man at the computer is looking at. This shot is the establishing shot because it establishes where and what may go on in the film. They used a fade to show the time passing in a cut. There is ambient sound of the guy typing on the computer showing that he may be doing something important. There is a non diegetic sound of a low pitch which is there to set the mood. Then it zooms in, into the “unlocking password” which has ambient sound of an electronic circuit. Then there is a close up reaction shot of the man looking at the computer. Then there is a panning camera movement of the man to his fingers which shows that he’s use to the computer a lot because he can type without looking at the keyboard. Then there is a cut in point of view shot showing why the guy is starring at the computer. The low pitch music is running all the way through all these shots. This also shows where the film is set. Then there is a jump cut of a green progress bar on the computer screen which suggests mystery to the scene because you want to know what he is downloading. Then it fades out to a blank page which shows that this shot is not seen by the actors in the film, with the main actor on it Bruce Willis. Then there is a close up tracking shot suggesting she is an important character. The non diegetic music in the background increases to a higher pitch music making the scene tenser. Then there is a close up pan focusing on his face which suggests that he may be significant later in the film. Then there is a close up pan focusing on her face which also suggests that she will be important later on in the film, also shows there is a partnership with the man. Then there is a point of view shot of what the women is looking at, this suggests that the information is important to the film. Then there is a flash transition with a point of view shot of the file which she has just downloaded. Then it pans up to the top of the screen. Then it cuts to a point of view shot with the progress bar is full. Then it is a cut away transition with the name of the on it.
